I put together a little color palette from a Siesta Key beach picture I took last week. Then I visited three of my favorite stores in the Rosemary district – Sarasota Architectural Salvage, The Sarasota Collection and Home Resource, in search of design inspiration, based on these earthy colors.

First Stop: Sarasota Architectural Salvage, at 1093 Central, opened in 2003 by Jesse White. SAS is the go-to place for salvaged building materials, architectural artifacts, garden accessories and much, much more. (I’ve written about them before right here.) image above: Sarasota Architectural Salvage/Facebook

Sarasota Architectural Salvage carries numbers (and letters) in all sizes and colors, salvaged stained-glass windows and a variety of old bottles/ jars. You’ll also find an assortment of custom tables, benches, barstools and cabinets. All made from reclaimed wood.

Second Stop: The Sarasota Collection at 622 Central, opened in 2003 by Pamela and Marcus Anast. This store has a beautifully curated collection of luxury bedding, high-end furniture, elegant home accessories and fancy lighting. They also have an outdoor showroom, filled with contemporary patio furniture. It’s simply devine.

Third Stop: Home Resource at 741 Central, opened in 1995 and owned by Kathy and Michael Bush. This store is heaven for modern enthusiasts who covet brands such as Herman Miller, Kartell, Knoll, Vitra and Fritz Hansen. I have a modern obession and love it all.

Mission accomplished. All three stores had an excellent sampling of the Siesta Key color palette. Thanks to Shawn O’Malley at Sarasota Architectural Salvage, Marcus Anast at The Sarasota Collection and Michael Bush at Home Resource for being so accommodating!
